Our community thrives because of the energy, passion, and dedication of those who help create a safe and supportive space for movement and transformation. Volunteering is a beautiful way to contribute to this experience while deepening your connection with the dance, the community, and yourself. Whether you’re assisting with setup, welcoming attendees, or helping maintain the sacred space, your presence is invaluable. Please fill out the form below to let us know how you’d like to get involved. We appreciate you and look forward to co-creating with you!
1. Setup & Breakdown Team
This team arrives early to set up the space and stays after to restore it. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down lighting, sound, and any necessary elements that create the energetic container for the dance. Volunteers ensure the space is welcoming, safe, and aligned with the event’s intention, leaving it better than we found it.
2. Altar Beautification Team
This team sets up and breaks down the altars, ensuring they are arranged with intention and beauty. Volunteers help place offerings, candles, crystals, and other sacred elements to enhance the energetic presence of the space. At the end of the event, they carefully dismantle the altars while honoring the sacredness of each element.
3. Welcome & Energy Guardians
The first faces attendees see! This team greets participants, checks people in, answers questions, and ensures that everyone feels welcomed. They also help uphold the container’s guidelines, ensuring a respectful and inclusive space for all.
4. Tech Team
This team supports the DJ and the overall sound experience of the event. Responsibilities include assisting with DJ setup and breakdown, troubleshooting any technical issues, and ensuring the sound quality remains optimal throughout the dance. This team is crucial for maintaining a seamless auditory journey.
5. Space Guardians
This trauma-informed team ensures the dance floor remains a safe, respectful, and consent-driven space for all attendees. They hold an energetic presence, gently intervening when needed to uphold the community’s guidelines and ensure all participants feel supported in their movement journey.
6. Cacao & Nourishment Team (if applicable)
For events incorporating cacao or other nourishment, this team helps prepare, serve, and guide participants through the offering with intention and care.
7. Social Media Team
As part of our social media team, you’ll co-create engaging campaigns, assist with content creation, and help schedule posts that inspire connection and movement. If you love storytelling, digital creativity, and spreading the joy of Ecstatic Dance, we’d love to have you on board!
As a thank-you for your time and energy, all volunteers receive free entry to Ecstatic Dance Charlotte! Volunteers are required to arrive promptly at 5:00 PM to ensure we have enough time to prepare and create a welcoming space for all attendees. Being on time is essential, as each role plays a vital part in holding the container for the dance. Please honor your commitment by arriving promptly and staying through your assigned responsibilities.
